Last weekend was a wild one for Bourbon Sprawl. On Thursday we competed in the Ironstock Music Challenge at Chapper’s Pub in Negaunee. Also playing were Fringe Collective and Nudge. All of the bands sounded great, but Bourbon Sprawl emerged victorious. This was only the preliminary round though. The Final Challenge will be against Nixxon Dixxon at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11 at the Teal Lake Community Picnic in Negaunee. The winner receives $1,000 cash prize. Thanks to The Negaunee Irontown Association for making this event happen.

Rockin' Pigfest before it rained
On Friday we rolled deep into the woods and played at Pigfest. If you’ve never been to Pigfest, you need to check it out next year. We began our set with renewed vigor despite our victory the night before and subsequent celebration. However, part way through, it began pouring rain. After scrambling around trying to keep the equipment dry, we were thoroughly soaked. Did we give in? No, we waited it out for a few minutes, and then got back on stage. After sweeping the puddles off the stage, drying the snake out with a fan, drying the mixing board with a hair dryer, etc. we managed to get the PA system working and finish most of our set before it began raining again.
