If you are looking for a straight up, double fisted, take no prisoners, screaming out the window, crawling through the alley with one shoe on rock and roll band, look no further. You can currently find Bourbon Sprawl blazing their way across the backwoods of the Upper Peninsula in a rusty van bringing their full frontal assault to the huddled masses.

They are available and able to play at bars, taverns, saloons, pubs, juke joints, speakeasies, LasVegas wedding ceremonies, funeral homes, private parties, oil rigging platforms, riverboat casinos (only the kind with those big paddle wheels on the sides) small Stadiums or large Arenas, coloseums both ancient and modern, and any other occassion where one is liable to find cigarettes, whiskey and women.
The band is currently playing a great mix of rockin’ tunes in the local bars and working on original material. If you have suggestions for songs you would like to hear, please e-mail the band and let them know. They are constantly adding new (and old) songs to their setlist so you wont have to listen to the same songs every time you hear them play.

Bourbon Sprawl at Wild Rover
Bourbon Sprawl had a last minute booking for Friday February 19th, at the Wild Rover in Marquette. It was a wild night to be playing downtown Marquette. The streets were blocked off all day and covered with snow for the start of the UP 200 Dog Sled race. Thousands of people lined the streets to watch as the Mushers began their journey. But all of that was wrapped up by the time we started playing, and the people were ready to party.
We made some new friends and had them dancing hard. Several videos were shot that night, and can be viewed on our video page. Here is a video of Bourbon Sprawl playing “Rumble” by the late, great Link Wray.

Bourbon Sprawl at Pressbox (Ojibway Casino)
We traveled north to Baraga for Valentine’s weekend. We played Friday February 12th and Saturday the 13th at Pressbox in the Ojibway Casino. It was the height of snowmobile season and the parking lot was full of trailers. Love was in the air, and Baraga was about to get it’s first taste of Bourbon Sprawl.
On Saturday night, it was a Mardi Gras party in the bar, so it got extra crazy. There were a lot of masks and beads going around and a special whopatooli mix being served at the bar. A large group of snowmobilers that we befriended earlier in the day came down and hit the dance floor with all their might. By the end of the night, the dance floor was so packed with people, that it spilled over and we had several ladies dancing on stage with us.
We all had fun playing and/or gambling. We left Sunday morning with the sound of slot machines ringing in our ears, and a camera full of pictures. Thanks to everybody for partying with us, especially all the snowmobilers and dancers.

Bourbon Sprawl at Mickeys Tavern
Last Saturday was our second gig at Mickeys Tavern in Laurium. We rocked and rumbled and made the dancers stumble… or was that from the drinks? Either way, we had another great time with a great crowd in Laurium. We love the Copper Country! Steve inaugurated his new cymbal, and shelled out an ample supply of cowbell as you can see in the photo above.
The dance floor was hot, but the temperature on the drive home was hovering near freezing. The thick, soupy fog gave way to deceptively clear and dry road for a moment before abruptly turning into an ice glazed wonderland as the moisture from the rain and fog froze in thin sheets on the road. Thanks to Jeff Johnson and Katie Gallagher for taking pictures.

The Wild Rover
It was another first for Bourbon Sprawl on Friday as we played at the Wild Rover in downtown Marquette. This is a great place to grab a few beers or some whiskey and catch some music. Unfortunately, we didn’t get any pictures of the performance. Maybe next time. We did have fun however, and would like to thank all the folks who rocked with us.

Bourbon Sprawl at Chappers Pub
Our first official gig of 2010 took place at Chappers Pub in Negaunee, though we did play a set for a benefit in Ishpeming the weekend prior. Thanks to Katie for taking pictures and thanks to Goofus for… being Goofus.
